I am a college student, and I needed a book stand that I could use on my desk in my room, but I also needed to be able to cary it in my backpack to use in the coffee shop or library. I ordered this item, and it is perfect. I use it for all of my books in my room. The heaviness of the book doesn't seem to be a problem--my Biology textbook weighs about 7 pounds and its over 1300 pages long, and the stand handles it just fine. When I need to use it somewhere else, it fits perfectly into my binder, ensuring that it will not be damaged in my bag. For any student who must read a lot, I could not suggest this book holder more. It is perfect for me.

Grea for basic student use. I have a thick manual on the holder and it doesn't break or anything. The front two hinge that holds the book in place is easily pop off but its also easy to pop back in. For the price, is it the simple basic book holder a college student needs.

This stand may be good for pamphlets, ring-bound manuals, magazines and typing sheets but definitely not for text books. It is unstable and the page holders can't hold any page open for even a nano second. Try the The Easi-Reader Bookstand or Mighty Bright Folding/Adjustable Book Holder instead.

This is a great book stand for placing on a table. We needed one to be used as a music stand and we love it.

i have had this book holder for about a month and find it very useful - i use it for large and small books (largest book being a pathology textbook ~650 pagesRapid Review Pathology: With STUDENT CONSULT Online Access). the only drawback that i can think of is that if you try to write in the book while its in the stand, the stand will move, so it's not good if you want to take extensive notes in the book. for the price, (i got it for less than $7) it's a great deal.

This product seems to be good enough to holdsmall to mediumn size books. (I do some writing and often needed a better way to hold books I wanted to quote from especially a Bible as I often write children's church material and devotional material) and for this purpose this holder is fine. However, the material does seem a little lacking...kind of thin...we will see how long it holds up. I don't know if it could hold a heavy or oversized book. Nonetheless, for the price and my need at this time it is good enough.

This book holder is great for text books and novels, whatever kind of book you are looking to prop up. However, it is limited on size, so your super sized medical textbooks won't fit on this. It's lightweight, a little on the flimsy side, but I haven't had any problems with it. It has a solid design so it doesn't tip over when I set my textbooks on it. It is one the most helpful items when I'm studying.

This book holder has worked great for my nursing textbooks. They are extremely heavy books. Since these holders are made of plastic, I'm cautious to slam my book down on it. These textbooks weigh 20 lbs! This holder has been great in class, at home and anywhere I need to study and still have the desk space to write on my notes. Price is great. Remember that you get what you pay for. It's plastic, so if you slam your heavy books down on it, it will break. Take care of it, and it will last you. I've had this for a couple of years, and no breaking.

Bought this for my son. I homeschool him and we sit at the dining room table to do school work. His neck was hurting him always looking down at the table. This product is great! He can now put his school books on it and it has helped his neck pain and his vision too!

They didn't do too great of a glue job, the "Fellowes" label is sliding around due to the glue not being adhesive enough or had melted? The black rubberized pegs for the stand can easily come off making it possible to lose them (and once that happens the stand might slide) The stand is plastic which has its pros and cons - it's lighter than aluminum/metal, but obviously less sturdier The joints of the stand is a little stiff which might require some effort to move and it may seem that in the long run the joints will loosen up and become less effective. Overall, it works great for books of all sorts

The 21140 is a unique, one-of-a-kind copyholder from Fellowes, designed especially for use with large textbooks and manuals. The two adjustable clips hold in place pages from even the largest, thickest textbooks, while the entire copyholder folds flat and fits neatly into a letter size ring binder...
