I purchased these bookends to support my heavy and tall cookbooks in the kitchen. I love the look of them. They serve their purpose. I wish they were heftier but they are what I expected. I didn't want bookends that would take up a lot of space on my counters. These fit the bill and do a fairly good job of keeping these cookbooks upright. Best I've found for my purposes. Attractive and useful.

I really like these bookends. I have them in my office at work. They pretty, and heavy enough to keep my books upright. Glad I bought them.

This bookcase looks very nice once assembled and is able to hold A LOT of books. However, it is true that the pieces that frame the front of the bookcase are about a 1/4 inch too short, so there is a small gap (that I chose to place at the bottom of the bookcase so it's really not noticable). The other MAJOR problem with assembly is that those same pieces DID not have pre-drilled holes to guide you in placing them, so do not order this unless you have a drill and some experience with assembling furniture or it will make you crazy. It does look like an expensive shelf once assembled (except the back is kind of flimsy looking, but if you have lots of "stuff" on the shelves it covers it up), and does hold lots of books.

I was looking for a bookcase for my daughters' room and found just what I was looking for. This is a nice bookcase. The only drawback is that there is no wall anchor system and also it seems to want to tip backwards if not secured properly. I have wedged it into a corner and added books/toys and this thing is not budging! It has a high end look to it and I think it was a steal!

We ordered two of these bookcases. When they arrived, one had a broken "c" board. We called Amazon and they had another bookcase sent to us. We put together the complete case and waited. Well, the replacement bookcase came and it also had a broken "C" board. We ended up keeping a broken one because we needed two and had already put the first good one together. We will do some "lower Alabama" reinforcing of the "C" board side and will hide it against the wall. Amazon was great in their service and because of that we will continue to order through Amazon. But still, it certainly is disappointing that we couldn't get two complete bookcases.

This library is very similar to the Sauder and Busch libraries on the market. The wood pattern lamination is paper thin so they must be used gently. The shelves are thick (7/8") although not actually 1" as advertised. When assembled the unit is a bit wobbly so if you are going to load it up with books or display objects you may want to add metal corner stiffners and substitute a piece of 1/8" finished plywood for the cardboard back. This will really stiffen the unit. The decorative molding is MDF (medium density fiber board). Plastic shelf pins hold the shelves in place but the adjustment holes are too few and too widely spaced. My 2 units arrived damaged due to less than adequate packaging and probably being roughly handled by the shipper. When packed they are very heavy and hard to handle. Unfortunately, it took South Shore a month to get me replacement pieces, but at least they did follow through with their guarantee. Without the shipping damage I would give them a B+ rating. But since they skimped on the packaging it only made for a long wait and a pile of pieces in my den for a month so they get a B- rating.

My husband and I have quite a few pieces of assemble-it-yourself furniture, and this is the most disappointing yet. The moldings (decorative pieces) that were supposed to go on the sides were too short, and you would have needed a power drill to get them attached at all, so we just left them off. The top molding piece we did get on, but it appeared that the screw holes were not pre-drilled. Also, this did not come with a safety piece to attach it to the wall (most other tall furniture does -- a necessity with a toddler around the house). By the time we had assembled the piece, it already had a couple palces where the paper "finish" didn't look right. With that said, it's sturdy enough and we braced it to the wall with a bracket bought from the local hardware store. It's easier to keep than return at this point, so we're keeping it. Just wish we'd bought a bookshelf from our local discount or hardware store for less. One more thing, the color is a little darker than I expect for "cherry" -- maybe it should be labeled antique cherry.

i love prince and his music. he is such a unique and talented person. he's one of a kind. i like the fact that he plays his own instruments, writes, and produces his own songs. he mixes funk, soul, and rock all together and make it work and make it into his own kind of style. that's why i love the 80s..there was more originality during that type. people were barely copying each other. not many people i know around me can appreciate his music. i asked them if they did like him or his music..i get "hell no" or "not my cup of tea". it takes one open minded, intellect to fully appreciate and understand his music. i think this cd would be a great start of people who are just casual fans or new fans. it has a great collection of my favorites! 1. "I Wanna Be Your Lover" (single edit) (5/5) - this song marks pre-prince. it was released in the late 70s. 2. "1999" (single edit) (5/5)- i love this song! it's one of my all time favorite prince songs. 1999 is actually my favorite year so this song just happens to be so convenient during the time being. 3. "Little Red Corvette" (5/5) - another hit from him during the 80s. i read somewhere that it has some sexual tones. all this time, i could have never guess it. 4. "When Doves Cry" (single edit) (5/5)-i love the video. one of the most artistic things ever done at its time. he's not known as "the artist" for nothing! 5. "Let's Go Crazy" (5/5)- it's a great party song with a rock touch to it. it makes me want to get up and dance and the intro is very epic and pure genius. 6. "Purple Rain" (5/5) - one of his best ballads ever! i love the movie purple rain. his only best film. it has such a symbolic meaning to it. 7. "I Would Die 4 U" (5/5)-my absolute fave. it has some religious references in there as he reassures his lover that he can do no wrong. 8. "Raspberry Beret" (5/5)- so sweet and delicious! 9. "Kiss" (single edit) (5/5)-listening to this song always put a smile to my face. it's hilarious and so was the video where he dances with this mystery woman. 10. "Sign "" the Times" (5/5)-i heard this song the first time while watching a movie in class. 11. "U Got the Look" (5/5)-the duet with sheena easton is awesome. i love hearing all the crazy sounds in the end. another reason to love the 80s! 12. "Alphabet St." (5/5)-very funky and fun 13. "Thieves in the Temple" (5/5)-love it 14. "Gett Off" (1/5)-umm...i don't really like this song, sorry. it's only song on here i dislike. 15. "Cream" (5/5)-i like the way he sings in this song. it sounds so seductive just like the lyrics itself. 16. "Diamonds and Pearls" (5/5) - i love this song!!!!!! it's very beautiful! the songs you hear out now can never have that artistic soul like this! 17. "Money Don't Matter 2 Night" (5/5)-it's very laidback and phil collins-y

Love this CD,it has all the songs I relly like by Prince. Recommend it highly if you are a Prince fan.

I've owned this CD ("The Very Best Of Prince") since it's release (2000) and after reading the reviews posted by others (as I often do), I feel an obligation to share my opinion of this particular compilation. Although "The Very Best" falls short in terms of quanity when compared to "The Hits/The B Sides", in terms of production quality "The Very Best" has far better 'sound quality' and for a single disc collection, the choice of material is 'the very best' and unlike the 'hits', all of the songs are in chronilogical order (which is always a plus, in my book). The 2007 release "Ultimate Prince" is also a fine compilation, but although this is a double disc CD there are still several 'hits' that were not included in that compilation..."Erotic City", "Adore" and "Sexy M.F." to name a few (although, I understand that 2 of those tracks were originally intended for the "Ultimate" but were later omitted. Anyway, the point that I'm really trying to make is, an artist like Prince cannot possibly be anthologized on a single ("The Very Best Of"), double ("Ultimate") or even triple disc ("The Hits/The B Sides") collection...It's just not possible! And until Warners or NPG can produce a single disc collection of 'hits' that can surpass "The Very Best Of Prince" this will be the undisputed champion of single disc compilations and 5 stars worthy in my Prince collection!

Hello All, Let's start out by saying that this is a fantastic cd by Prince! It has all of your favorites on there such as: Little Red Corvette, Purple Rain, U Got the Look, Kiss, 1999, I Wanna Be Your Lover..... I can keep going on because this disc is filled with 17 songs of pure, raw edginess by our man! Go grab this CD, matter of fact, grab 2 while your at it:-)

I never realized how much of a Prince fan I was until I was singing along with all of these songs. One great song after another.

Average Rating:

Taken literally, this album's title is sure to cause endless arguments. Nothing from Dirty Mind, not a trace of the early anthem "Controversy," no "Erotic City"--no non-LP cuts at all, save some edited single versions--and a cold shoulder to the criminally out-of-print Gold Experience...

I love ACDC, and nearly all the songs are excellent. I would highly recommend this cd to anyone who loves good rock and roll

Another awesome AC/DC......had to have a few songs off of here. Able to buy 4 CD's, plus I have Back in Black.....and made a new CD with all the good fav's! But this is a must have CD to complete that collection!

Song for song, this album may not be quite as strong as 1979's "Highway To Hell", but "Let There Be Rock" was still the best record AC/DC had made up to that point. It wasn't a big hit at the time, but several of the eight songs have gone on to become classics - most spectacularly "Whole Lotta Rosie", which isn't just an AC/DC classic, but one of the instantly recognizable classics of hard rock in general. "Let There Be Rock" also sports the title track "Bad Boy Boogie", and "Hell Ain't A Bad Place To Be".

I'm not going to break this down song by song, but suffice it to say I have listened to a lot of rock & roll records in my day, and Let There Be Rock is an absolute gem. The echelon this record reaches is very scarcely populated indeed. The raw power and crunching riffs on this album are downright addicting and if they can't get your blood pumping, I'd suggest therapy! Bon Scott was the heart and soul of AC/DC; my God, when they drew up the prototype rock & roll singer, Bon was it. Witty, charming, lyrically funny and clever, and with a voice that could strip paint off the walls, Bon and his mates are awesome on every song here. Ladies loved him and blokes wanted to be like him; I don't recall anyone ever saying anything bad about Bon. I love every single song on here, including the usual suspects Let There be Rock and Whole Lotta Rosie, but do not overlook a hidden gem in Overdose. Again, the riffs will sweep you up and blow you completely away. I'm not going to knock the Brian Johnson version of AC/DC. Brian seems like a great guy and was a very good choice to replace Bon (if such can indeed ever be done). However, for my money the AC/DC between 1975 and 1979 is absolutely off the charts and all of their CD's should be in your collection if you like good old fashioned a**-kickin' rock and roll. Few, if any, have ever done it any better.

I had heard this album like many years ago before I decided to buy this album. I had no memories about this album but I bought it because I had read other reviews in Internet. The first times to hear this were awful. It seemed that the only track that was good was the title tracks. Anyway, I have used to listen to the albus many times no matter how bad they may sound at first. Eventually, it was fifth time when I noticed that there were other great songs too, like "Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be", "Whole Lotta Rosie", and "Bad Boy Boogie". Bon Scott's voice is great, kinda rusty, just perfect for AC/DC. Although this isn't so famous album, Many people usually put this in their top5 AC/DC albums - and I am the one. The only track that hasn't opened for me yet is the opening track "Go Down". Stars: Let There Be Rock, Hell Ain't a Bad Place to Be, Whole Lotta Rosie

Average Rating:

AC/DC's second U.S. release took the raw energy from their debut, High Voltage, up a notch, producing another huge collection of driving, intense songs for serious headbanging, but adding a bit more professionalism into the equation...

Abbey Road (1990) Abbey Road (1990)

Reviews

Wow....finally the whole Beatles catalog has been reissued and remastered. I have to say the sound is great! This one is probably my favorite of the Beatles catalog.

EMI/Capitol Records, the same label that shortchanged the Beatles, making millions around the world on the backs of the Fab Four, and paying them (taxable) pennies on the Pound. Such was the depth of the penny pinching stinginess that the band put their trust on the charlatan "Magic Alex", who in the end, cost The Beatles 300,000 Pounds (about $3Million Pounds today) - to build them a brand new state of the art 72 track recording studio. It is little wonder then, that albums such as "Let It Be' brim with anger, insecurity and defeat - leading a short time to "Abbey Road", a more polished effort and in a way (and forgive me fans): sterile. This is not to take away from the music itself, but by then they were no longer a band - McCartney attempting to take over the group via a coup d'Etat, and shortchanging his band members by secretly buying a larger share of the music publisher that owned their songs, and brutally repressing any input by George (though in the case of Ringo, it is perfectly understandable). Capitol Records has milked the Fab Four legacy with their inept and overall stupid compilation releases, which only made people such as Allen Klein exponentially rich, while starving the band of their dues. If you must have this album, go for the 2009 remaster, not for the rehash/retread of the 1995 release.

What an album. It's almost flawless. I'm just going to say from the begging, Octopus's Garden is one of the most god awful songs ever. With a great intro,it's a complete let down. The lyrics are awful and so are the vocals. It really brings the album down a lot. However, the rest is amazing. It starts with a Beatle's spin on funk (Come Together). Next is George Harrison's all-time best song "Something", one of the most beautiful ballads I've ever heard. Next to "Everyday" by Buddy Holly and "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton, it's the best love song ever. "Maxwell's Silver Hammer" is demented, but catchy, and has the best rhyming Paul McCartney has ever written. "Oh! Darling" is a great rocking salute to R&B. "I Want You" is a very deep song. Many people think that it's too long, but if you stick to the end, you'll hear the best Beatle's jam and most abrupt ending. After the very heavy sound of "I Want You", there's the very optimistic, light "Here Comes The Sun". This is also amoung Harrison's best. It's very pretty and somewhat simple. "Because" has beautiful 3-way harmonies and mystical lyrics. There's no doubt that the strongest part of the album is the medley. It starts with the Apple bashing "You Never Give Me Your Money" which features three (maybe 4)distinct (and awesome) parts and beautiful piano. Next is Lennon's turn with the poetic "Sun King" and hilarous "Mean Mr. Mustard" and "Polythene Pam". He gives the best part of the medley. Then there's the country-tinged "She Came In Through The Bathroom Window". Paul turns a famous Thomas Dekker song into a beautiful childhood ballad with "Golden Slumbers". "Carry That Weight" is a great anthem to the pressures of growing up, "The End" is a thrill with each guitarist taking turns with sweet solos. It also has Ringo's only drum solo ever (and it's his best moment ever). "Her Majesty" is a let down. "The End" would have been a perfect way to say goodbye, but they chose this instead. It's a nice diddy, but it's only Paul. They should have ended with giving each member part to shine. None the less, this is still an phenomenal album. I suggest to anyone who likes music in general. This isn't my favorite Beatles album. Just proves that everything they did was gold.

Came brand new just like it was stated, shipping was normal speed. Just a good purchase

I LIKE THE BEATLES, BUT I'M NOT ONE WHO LIKES EVERYTHING THEY DID, JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE THE BEATLES. I THINK AT THIS POINT THEY WERE RIDING ON THEIR PAST REPUTATION. I ALWAYS LIKED THE ALBUM COVER ON ABBY RD, BUT WAS VERY SURPRISED AT THE LACK OF GOOD MATERIAL ON THE ALBUM WHEN I SAMPLED IT FOR THE FIRST TIME TONIGHT. I WOULD RATE THIS ALBUM A NOTCH BELOW THE WHITE ALBUM, WHICH HAD A FEW GOOD SONGS, BUT MOSTLY JUST WEIRD, NO CATCHY TUNES, AND HAS A DEPRESSED OR DOWN TRODDEN FEELING. I WOULD SAY TO STICK WITH EARLIER MATERIAL, OR GO TO A SITE LIKE YOUTUBE WHERE YOU CAN SAMPLE THE SONGS FIRST. THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE SONGS WORTH HAVING ON THIS ALBUM, IN WHICH CASE I'D SAY TO BUY A GREATEST HITS OR BUY SONGS INDIVIDUALLY. FOR SOME REASON AMAZON DOESN'T LET YOU BUY MP3'S BY THE BEATLES. NO OFFENSE TO BEATLES DIE HARD FANS THAT CONSUME EVERYTHING THEY DID, BUT QUITE HONESTLY FROM AN OBJECTIVE POINT OF VIEW, THEY WERE NO LONGER WALKING ON WATER AT THIS POINT IN THIER CAREER.

Pokemon the First Movie: Mewtwo vs. Mew [VHS] Pokemon the First Movie: Mewtwo vs. Mew [VHS]

Reviews

This movie offers no explanation on what Pokemon are to non-fans.It also uses the characters from a violent show to promote non-violence.Hypocrisy with a captial "H".Worst of all, after all is said and done MewTwo wipes the cast's memory away so they forget about what they learned and continue fighting.By the way,I'm I the only one who thinks Mewtwo is a lame name for a clone for another pokemon named Mew.Talk about lazy! The characters in the show have little to no personality what so ever. The only good thing about this film is the animation itself but it's still not worth it.

This movie is AWESOME!!! I love this movie, because I love Pokemon. Pokemon is no longer just for kids, Pokemon can still be fun for kids, but Pokemon can be fun for some older people too. I loved Pokemon since when I was little kid, and I still Pokemon. I got the DVD of this Pokemon movie for a birthday present when I was a teenager, and I still have the DVD of Pokemon the First Movie. I recommend this movie to folks that love Pokemon. Here are some reasons why I love this movie: - This movie is based on this cartoon series Pokemon. (This movie was made after they aired the original series of Pokemon) - Ash's voice sounded great in this in Pokemon the First Movie as in the original series of Pokemon - Misty was still traveling with Ash, when this Pokemon movie was made. I would also recommend this Pokemon movie to some folks that say Misty is good-looking. Remember Misty has a crush on Ash. I miss seeing Misty in Pokemon. Ash and Misty had great adventures together. Ash and Misty are a great couple. If you love Pokemon, buy this Pokemon movie on DVD. If you love Pokemon and If you don't have a copy of this movie, buy it if you want it!!! Pokemon Rocks!!!!! I give Pokemon the First Movie 10/10. Pokemon the First Movie is fun for Pokemon fans.

I saw this movie in theaters, it was great. And as awesome as Pokemon is, the people who give it low stars for an actual reason (unlike the people who hate Pokemon, think that it is games based off a show, etc. In other words, know nothing about Pokemon; won't even try the games, despite that Red Version, Gold Version, and HeartGold Version are gaming masterpieces. (alright, I can understand not liking the show and cards and etc., but the games are amazing RPGs) who rate it low simply because; not on the basis on anything, but on spite) that it wasn't very good, are true. As far as movies go, it's pretty bad. Unless you really pay attention, you probably won't see a plot. But, nostalgia makes me like it. I still enjoy it, even if it is a bad movie. Probably the only people who will enjoy it are Pokemon fans; even if your older. (unless, of course, you still haven't gotten over the whole "but I'm a big kid now, everything I liked as a child is dumb!" phase.) If you're not a parent of a Pokemon fan, or a parent of one, why would you be watching this?

the price was great, children loved it, came on time, great condition. I would buy from this seller again. Thank you for great service

It's not nearly as good as the japanese version, not by a long shot. I'm not trying to sound mean or anything, but 4kids really sapped the awesomeness out of it. They took out the prologue, and made Mewtwo seem like a villian. He was just mad because he was created by humans, and not by "god". It's also full of aesops, cultural references, and they got certain things wrong, like Pokemon names. However,it's still a classic Pokemon movie.

The world domination of Pokémon begets their first theatrical movie. This adventure is a little more complex and dark than the popular TV series, but kids who live for the show will gobble up this film and ask for seconds...

Legend [VHS] Legend [VHS]

Reviews

This is so much better then the orignal version. I can watch the director's version, which has more suspence, and there is more of a background to the film. I recommend this to everyone, be they are lover of fairy tales or fanatsy films, or Ridley Scott films. It is great!!!!

I recieved my order in a well timed fashion and I am very happy with the product.

I was so glad to find that the US theatrical release of the movie is still available. It's the first one I saw and because of just how otherworldly and powerful it makes the footage, I far prefer the Tangerine Dream soundtrack. I used to have the original on video and chucked that when I bought the single dvd - not realising that it was a different soundtrack, (I'd actually forgotten that there were two, because the TD soundtrack is so intrinsic to the movie for me) - and I was *so* disappointed when I heard it for the first time. I was devastated! Why had I chucked my video!? Anyway, being able to find the Ultimate Version, with the two different soundtracks on is definitely the bee's knees because of course, not everyone likes Tangerine Dream - I know some people prefer a more traditional score - so I guess it really is worth the title Ultimate. Whichever one you like, I think this is the one to buy!

Typically, films center around a basic, logical, plot throwing point. You set up a cast of characters, create obstacles for them, torture them, then let them get married. Usually, if you're Steven Spielberg or J. J. Abrams, the use of aliens or strange creatures from even stranger islands come into play. Legend is a............ good idea(?) but has a pretty fatal, damaging problem. Its....boring. Although it contains many fantasy elements and even pulls a few of them off, Legend fails in its primal, basic idea. A girl lives in the forest ( a kind of sleeping beauty before being put to sleep). She's the most beautiful girl in the world. PERIOD. We believe that quite quickly because she shimmers like a Christmas tree through most of the film. She's also the epitome of INNOCENCE. We are (I seem to recall though I might be wrong) told this through a booming, fatherly, somewhat creepy yet authoritative voice over. Heres the part where it loses its primal basic idea... The innocent girl, meets the dreamy, steamy, fourteen year old, gorgeous hair Tom Cruise standup doll in the forest... and they immediately begin to "get it on", if you get my meaning. I do not like being told that a character is the epitome of Innocence and Purity while I watch her lie to her guardian (who apparently was only created to serve the girl and therefore doesn't deserve to be treated with respect) as she sneaks out to have hanky pankys with Tom Cruise. Who later becomes the head of a strange religion that believe aliens will come back to take our bodies or some crud like OH MAN THIS IS A SPIELBERG FILM! Oops, I strayed into real life. My bad. There are NO aliens in this film. There probably should have been. It would have provided a bit more content. Rather then us watching Satan, who is watching the girl and Tom Cruise who are getting it on. Anys, apparently Satan has a lot of time on his hands because he kidnaps the fair maiden. He drags her down, down down down into his dark kingdom where he dresses her up like a queen and begins the arduous task of seducing her. Since after kidnapping her and dragging her to hell he is powerless to do anything untoward to her without her permission. Yes.... I understand! Its because she's innocent, isn't it?! I get it now! Back to the...... plot. Tom Cruise fights Satan for girl and wins!! Oog Oog! Also, a group of semi sentient beings (fairies and pixies and other creatures) get minor air time! Now the only good thing about this film is hearing Tim Curry's voice come out of Satan. I mean... that is WEIRD!! I love Tim Curry (most of the time) but even he can't make up for the horrible lines that he HIMSELF is saying! Watching Satan try to seduce a young girl is not fun. It would have been WAY more fun if the Satan character had decided to kidnap the girl just to get on the good guys nerves. That way it would have been one of those "Yes you can't beat me but I want to test you and get my kicks out of making you suffer" movies instead of " I luuuuuuuuuuuuuuust" movies. When I was a kid I saw this film. It scared the peewadlins out of me. A few years later I had forgotten how scared I was and watched it again. That time I was just kind of disgusted. A few years later I thought, maybe I've grown up enough to enjoy this film. But the last time I was just bored. This film is boring! Worse, this film is kind of dirty. I hate dirty films. Especially when they're masked as fantasy sci fi films. Which are my favorite films.

I purchased this film to add to my collection from movies of the past that I would like to keep; consequently, I purchased the DVD. I like the story line okay, but I enjoyed the special effects for its' day and still rank it as tops even with our advanced technologies.

This movie is not only a comedic homage to Alfred Hitchcock, it is a gathering of great character actors. Ned Beatty, Patrick McGoohan, Ray Walston, and Scatman Carruthers to name a few. The movie is well written by Colin Higgins with enough twists and hilarity for everyone! Starring Gene Wilder as hapless victim and Richard Pryor as hapless saviour and Jill Clayburgh as damsel in distress, this movie never stops in comedy or mystery. Stock up on popcorn and spend an evening with a great comedic cast.

the team of Wilder and Pryor never disappoints. True to form they are a hilarious duo. Action packed and hilariously funny there never is a dull moment.

Have this on VHS and now happy to have it on DVD. Love watching movies over that I enjoy---this is one of them.

I've always loved this movie. Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor are hilarious together. The scene in the train station where Grover tries to make George look "black" is one of the funniest scenes of all time!

One of Gene Wilder's best movies and you will laugh through the whole movie. It's just one mishap after another. It also has a good cast for the characters.

I really enjoyed this widescreen movie plus great entertainment of action. I think it's well balanced story for many movie fans especially for spider-man fans,of course!

Too much violence, not enough story line. My Seven Year-Old Grandson won't be able to watch this until he is much older!

Tobey Maguire, Kirsten Dunst and Willem Dafoe star in Sam Raimi's 2002 action film. Bit by a super-genetic spider, A teen becomes a hero and faces an evil enemy. I've always liked this film and glad I got this special edition that has nice picture and sound plus many cool extras. I highly recommend this great comic book film.

Spiderman grabs my heart. I'm female, so I like heart with my action movies, and this movie has the perfect balance. I will watch it a hundred times before I'm sick of it. The nerd in me relates to Peter Parker. Go Spiderman!

My son loves this movie. Huge spidey fan. I like the music in it. When I saw that it was Danny Elfman, I was surprised. His music usually has a very "small" feel to it with limited thematic phrases. This felt much larger. I could tell a difference in his musical growth. Overall, the acting is great and the effects are okay (not near as good as the subsequent movies).

Reviews

I loved "This Is It" in the theater and couldn't wait to have a copy. The pieced-together film, made up of Michael's rehearsals, was so well done and Michael's genius in choosing and training the dancers, the unique choreography, special effects and his expertise in so many areas was mind blowing. I can't recommend ithe DVD highly enough.

It shows what a great inteligent man that was a genius that is gone to soon. I seen it went it first came out & I have the tape in which everyone should own. What a sad day on 06/25/2009

I have never been a true fan of Michael Jackson but always thought of him as a great performer. This video reinforces that thought. It is interesting, very thoughtfully done with reverence to the deceased star. I have watched it several times since receiving it. It is a true memorial to a great performer.

Michael Jackson's This Is It is an interesting look of the final months of the King of Pop's life. Michael Jackson's personal life wasn't always picture perfect but his iconic music forever lives on. I was really surprised how well Michael's singing and dancing ability was before his untimely death. He is very frail and appears drained at times but his voice and famous moves were still intact. I really enjoyed the rehearsal footage of They Don't Really Care About Us, Human Nature, Thriller, Black or White, and Billie Jean. Kenny Ortega did a great job on this documentary. Check this DVD out sometime!

REALLY WANTED THIS DVD BUT IT WOULD NOT PLAY ON ANY OF MY DVD PLAYERS.THE SELLERS WERE VERY NICE THOUGH AND GAVE ME AN IMMEDIATE REFUND.I WOULD PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN JUST BECAUSE THEY WERE SO NICE.

Good little DVD package, but after a while I just got bored with watching some of the fights...The people who made the DVD made the fight clips last way too long.. 3/5

too much commentary. The commentary by the experts is too much and unnecessary. Also, there was more talk than actual fights in the almost 5 hours of DVD. I would have preferred more visual and less audio.

very good action and what a birthday etc. gift it would be for anyone. it is worth its money in gold. love it

i checked it out from the library to see what it is like... the fights on this dvd are absolute classics! among them are the 1915 jack johnson vs. jess willard fight, the long count with dempsey vs. tunney, and the first dempsey vs. tunney fight. also jersey joe walcott vs. rocky marciano from 1952. and a lot of others. plus commnetary from boxing analyst burt randolph sugar and larry holmes.
