Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue SR8016 Stainless-Steel Beer-Can Chicken Rack with Drip Pan Steven Raichlen Best of Barbecue SR8016 Stainless-Steel Beer-Can Chicken Rack with Drip Pan

The holder for the beer can(or other liquid) has a sharp edge. It is difficult an you must be careful. The rack fits very low on the drip rack. It is also difficult to clean since you must clean between the supports. I would recommend a cheaper model that is more functional.

WE HEARD ABOUT THE BEER BUTT CHICKEN BUT HAD NEVER TRIED IT. I LOOKED EVERYWHERE TO FIND WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD BE THE BEST RACK WITH A DRIP PAN. I FOUND IT ON AMAZON. THIS SR8016 IS ALL STAINLESS STEEL. YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE A BEER CAN. IT MAKES THE BEST LOOKING AND TASTING CHICKEN YOU HAVE EVER HAD. I'M GOING TO TRY IT ON A SMALL TURKEY. IT'S GREAT.

Bought this for a friend for Christmas. He and his wife just rave about how moist and delicous the chicken turns out. I'm going to purchase one for my family also!

I've been cooking Beer-Butt chicken for a long while - moving up from trying to balance a can+chicken on the grill to the welded wire can holders and now this stainless steel model. This is BY FAR the best. So many products I look at appear to be designed for a particular price point and whether they actually work is at the bottom of the list. This cooker has several nice design features that only would have been included if the designer ACTUALLY USED the product. Good job Steve.

The look is nice. But the can that comes with it the lid gets stuck inside the chicken. Its really loose.Id rather bought the product without the can.I think it was poorly put together.Shame on the people who designed the the locking mechanism for the lid.Dont get me wrong "its pretty"!

Rose Levy Beranbaum Bakeware Rose's Heavenly Cake Strip, Silicone Rose Levy Beranbaum Bakeware Rose's Heavenly Cake Strip, Silicone

Reviews

First, I am a very experienced baker. I was curious about these strips and tried them and cannot tell you how disappointed I was. Since it is just too much trouble to return the items to Amazon I just threw them away. While the principle involved may be sound, the design of these is just terrible. I have various sizes of 9-inch cake pans and for these bands to even come close to fitting the pan has to be a very specific 9-inch round pan. The manufacturer makes claims that the bands fit both 9-inch round cake pans and 8-inch square pans. Of my rather vast collection of 8-inch pans the band with significant effort only fit one pan...a vintage 1930s pan. It was impossible to get the bands on any of my William Sonoma pans. Rose Levy Beranbaum's cookbooks may be good, but her products...at least juding from these bands...are terrible.

I spent countless hours on the drawing table figuring out how to use 'silicone sides' for metal pans. Bakeries have been using silicone for decades, and glad that now this secret is out to home bakers! A butter based cake bakes moist and even on silicone pans, but don't develop the nice crisp brown crust. Rose's silicone strips are the solution: the cake still bakes on metal, but the silicone shield is in place to keep cake moist and level. Having the strips slip out of the pan is an advantage and it is designed this way on purpose. You really don't want to apply so much pressure when removing the strips when the cake is done, because you could tap hard on the pan and cause the cake to sink. Silicone also expands when heat is applied. 9" pans are measured as the internal diameter. If your pan is made of thick aluminum, then the outside diameter can be up to 9 3/4 inches. So you know, it would be impossible to make a ring out of silicone to fit exactly. tuck in a little piece of folded aluminum foil under, to keep the rings put, or get some trussing twine or silicone rubber bands for roasts. I know this defeats the purpose of a stretch ring easy to use, but honestly, it is still much easier than having to deal with pins and cloth aluminized traditional cake strips. I have several of Rose's cake strips and use them on all my pans from 3" to 12" diameters and bigger! For the smaller pans you can fold the cake strips in half and use it 'double thick' and for the larger pans fold them in half also and use 2 or 3 strips. Really, one size fits all. The trussing twine will keep them put. Don't cut the strips to fit, silicone is known to shred when cut. Another tip, is that you can wash them in your clothes washer together with your clothes! Good luck, and please report back how you managed to fit the cake strips to all size pans, and how wonderful they work to keep cakes evenly baked and moist!

I have a couple of sets of some nice 9 inch cake pans. Some are Wilton Brand & the others are Williams Sonoma. These cake strips do not stay on my pans! I was so surprised and I still can't figure out what is wrong. I even got on Rose's blog (the woman who invented these cake strips) and asked her about my problem. She was perplexed and came up with a few thoughts on why mine don't fit (does the pan sides slope?, did I measure to make sure they are NINE inch pans?). No the sides do not slope and yes, they are all 9 inch pans. My cake stips are so loose that the pan can just be lifted right out of the center of the strips without them even catching the sides. I do still use them but I just lift the pan out separately THEN I lift the strips out of the oven. It just makes thinks inconvenient because the strips are falling all over the place or not sitting straight or twisting. I wanted to send them back but I really wanted to make them work. Maybe I'll have to invest in some 10 inch pans. But even though mine don't fit correctly on my cake pans, I have to admit they still do what they are supposed to do. The sides of my cake layers are much more soft and do not develop a darker crust like they used to. I just wish my strips worked like they are supposed to. I'm disappointed.

At the price listed the day I write this, ($7.59), it is one of the most affordable bible covers at Amazon.com The most important thing about a bible cover is to make sure it fits, as these covers are NOT one size fits all. This one measures 10" x 7-1/4 x 2-1/2, which can fit most standard size bibles. Make sure the cover is a good bit larger than the size of your bible so it fits INSIDE. It would be useful for any bible cover companies that sell here to just list the maximum size of bible the tote is intended for. I bought one for my son, and his bible is pretty standard at 8 inches tall, and fits fine. For bible covers made of nylon (I don't like the leather ones) the largest size I found at Amazon.com is the tri-fold bible cover from another manufacturer. The material is sturdy nylon, so it fairly spill and stain proof. It has a handle, a zip closure for the bible, an exterior pocket with a flap and another zipped pocket. I think the camo design is pretty cool, and it could be a great gift for a hunter, fisher, outdoors lover, or your military personnel.

This is an excellent CD. She reminds me of a modern day Carole King.

Lately I rarely hear new artists that really excite me anymore. And I almost never write reviews. But I was in the car driving home today, listening to the NPR show Mountain Stage on WFUV ( Great radio station in NYC area by the way - 90.7 FM) and Diane came on. As soon she started playing I was immediately wowed. The first thing I did when I got home was turn on my computer and order this album. What a debut!! I heard traces of the great singer/songwriters like Laura Nyro and Carol King. There is very little REAL music out there these days. Diane is real thing!! If she is this good, this young...watch out!!!!

I bought this CD after a friend recommended it to me. I am so glad I did. It sits in my alarm clock CD player and I listen to it every night. Diane is an amazing talent and has a unique voice. I just find her music so soothing and uplifting and heart-felt.

I had the pleasure of listening to her live in studio on our local NPR station. I immediately popped over and ordered the CD, which we love. Then, the other night the music channel was on in the background during dinner. A song came on and I just had to get up and see who it was so I could make a note of it. Low and behold, it was Diane. She is one talented young lady!

I bought this album after seeing Diane on the "live from Daryl's house" show- I was slightly dissapointed in the album- The musicians on the LFDH were and are just outstanding- I think if she released that instead of her album it would have been much better- BUT, hey you got to do what you got to do- Album is good- could have been better!

The price and the shipping & handling for this product were both very reasonable. The package got here in a short amount of time. My only complaint is that I ordered the English version, but when I ripped the cd into my iTunes....the titles were all in Spanish! The songs, thankfully, were in English, so the titles only caused momentary distress.

I bought this cd for my grandaughter, and she loves it. We do the actions to the songs and she loves that Grandma knows these songs.

This CD is fun to listen to. I gave it to family as a gift.

My children spent hours listening, singing and doing the actions to this CD. Great choice as a motivator for kids to learn the songs. Catchy tunes and fun too ..even adaults will find the CD fun too.. I recommend this CD..

I am so happy with this product. Action Bible Songs One day I was trying to find songs that I could teach to my daughter that had motions and I stumbled upon this one. The moment I started playing the songs, I was completely surprised when my daughter (almost 2), started singing with them! This happens to be the cd they use at her Sunday School Class, or Children's Ministry. She lights up every time we play the cd and sing along! It's wonderful to have the same thing from church to play at home...and for a great price!

never received. I am in Iraq serving in the military. I ordered 2 albums. One album I received about 3 weeks ago. The Neon Bible album has yet to get here. I am leaving my current location in a few days. I am sure I will not receive it and probably never will.

2004's Funeral took all indie rock fans by surprise with its sweet, charming, intriguing sound and overwhelmingly original lyrics. Receiving perfect scores from nearly every critical publication, Arcade Fire definitely set a high standard for themselves right off the bat. Neon Bible is a darker, more mature, and more progressive set of Arcade Fire tunes. From the first haunting whisper of "Black Mirror" to the powerful fadeout at the end of "My Body is a Cage," Arcade Fire paints a convicting picture of the consequences of America's focus on commercialism. With vivid parallels and resonant parables, each track becomes more and more commanding with each repeated listen. Album highlights, including lead single "Keep the Car Running," "Intervention," "No Cars Go," and "Ocean of Noise," each bring their own unique songwriting element to the table. Gripping lyrics abound in each of the aforementioned tracks, specifically in "Intervention" ("You say it's money that we need / As if we're only mouths to feed / I know no matter what you say / There's some debts you'll never pay"). The careful simplicity of each phrase also adds to the lyrical brilliance of leader Win Butler, as it did so prevalently additionally in Funeral. Though some Arcade Fire fans may not be accustomed to the album's frequent application of large arrangements or heavy organ usage, the employment of these techniques is artistically and sonically fitting and also adds some versatility to the band's catalogue. For example; organ-heavy tracks like "My Body is a Cage" and "Intervention" relate lyrically to spirituality and ecclesial conflict, making the strong presence of the organ a vital part of the songs' arrangements. After listening to both albums many, many, many wonderful times, I have come to the apparently uncommon conclusion that Neon Bible outdoes Funeral with its concise composition and its dark melodies. Don't get me wrong-- Classic Arcade Fire songs like "Neighborhoods #1 (Tunnels)," "In the Backseat," "Wake Up," and "Neighborhoods #2 (Laika)" are tough to beat or even break even with. However, Neon Bible definitely has its own classics and is a force to be reckoned with for Arcade Fire fans and other indie rock fans alike. 2007's best indie rock album, hands down.

As my title says, this is really on of the most amazing and beautiful albums I've ever heard. It's truly deep and very well written. I love Arcade Fire because their songs are really from the heart: I can really feel the emotion when they sing and play; it's amazing! The emotion I feel when listening to songs like 'No Cars Go', and 'My Body is a Cage' is really overwhelming; my whole body gets goosebumps! This album is truly amazing, and I recommend it to all. Don't look at this album and not buy it. Every song is incredible! Buy this and you'll be listening to it all the time. It's worth much more than what it sells for. Bravo Arcade Fire, *CLAP* *CLAP*

When I first heard Neon Bible, I wanted another Funeral. This is not another Funeral. Rather, this is a more mature, darker sound which, upon repeated listens, has grown incredibly on me. Had this been my introduction to Arcade Fire, I'd be just as in love with them as I was after hearing Funeral.

No, this is not a flop. This was the first AF album I bought and upon the first 3 or so listens I was very worried. I disliked the tone of the music, I had a few headaches, I couldn't enjoy it because the music was kinda quiet but when I turned it up I enjoyed it even less. But, thankfully, I didn't give up, I had spent money on the physical album (only reserved for my very favorites# and wasn't going to admit I had made a bad decision. I then did something brash. I bought Funeral. I liked the sound, I felt good about listening to it for twice as long as I would have listened to Neon Bible just to make up for it. Then I put Neon Bible back on, and it was great. Better than Funeral now that I had digested it, the orchestrations were more complex, the hooks were cleaner, the sound was grander. Just some back story to my review if you were turned off at first, o and Funeral and Neon Bible are about on the same level for me right now, dunno which I like more. Now for Neon Bible: Black Mirror is my least favorite track, I listen to it b/c its epic, but it lacks a lasting/growing appeal for me. Keep the car running is amazing, even though it has a pop sensibility to it, it still holds an epicness to keep you going for repeat listens. Neon Bible is short and sweet#well short) and gives a little segue into the meat of the album. Intervention is pretty good and it has its highs and lows but the following 5 tracks I disliked very much until my return. The next 6 tracks are simply amazing. Black waves, Ocean of Noise, Well and Lighthouse, antichrist, Windowsill, No cars go are all stunning and Body is a cage is a killer closer. Of all the tracks, my favorites are Windowsill, 2 Cars songs, and Well and Lighthouse, but it'd be hard for me to identify them outside of the album run through to be honest.

The Bible - Esther [VHS] The Bible - Esther [VHS]

Reviews

This movie version of Esther is the closest one to scripture I have ever seen. And I absolutely loved the way they kept the entire story within the historical context of the rest of the Bible, showing how Ezra and Nehemiah's stories follow Esther's. Excellent acting and story telling.

This older version of Esther is much better than A night with the King. The scriptures are followed much betterin this one than the newer movie. The actress that plays Esther is beautiful as well as a fine actress. Excellent movie.

I am a devoted fan of The Bible Collection Movies because they give a vivid and thorough story-telling account of the stories from the bible. Their version of Esther is breath-taking! From beginning to end-stunning!! You won't be sorry to buy this one!!

This film is one worth seeing, especially if you appreciate Biblical films that are true to the Biblical account. "Esther" wouldn't get 100%, but it is basically true to the Scripture. Louise Lombard who plays Esther does a fine portrayal, believable. Mordecai is especially well done also. King Ahasuerus/Xerxes was not as believable for me, but who knows what he was really like? The quality of the film itself was good, with great backgrounds and costuming. It didn't come across as a low budget presentation. I'll be showing it to a group of women this week. We just finished studying the story of Esther and this will be a good follow-up to put "flesh and bones" to the story of God's gracious provision to save His people, the Jews, through one of their own who was in a strategic place(queen) at a strategic time (when the annihilation of the Persian Jews was imminent). Purim commemorates this momentous event every year amongst the Jewish people. Personally, I would choose this film over "One Night with the King" primarily for its accuracy, and it is well done.

I received the product quickly and in good condition but I did not like the artistic license.

They made this movie when men did not presume to change the accounts of the Bible. I first saw this movie at one of its premiere showings in San Francisco, 1966 on a junior high school field trip. It's every bit as good to see now. Kids love to watch it as well as adults. Fast shipping. If you want to see an accurate well acted movie true to the biblical text; see this one. Fast shipping.

This DVD is highly recommended to use as teaching and just learning of God's wonders. I truly enjoyed it.

I saw this in the theater when I was 10 years old, and I was both captivated and bored at the same time. John Huston once said he always wanted to do a biblical epic, but unfortunately he was a little late. By 1966 these type of epics had become passe as indicated a year earlier by the box office and critical failure of George Stevens' mammoth all-star production of the story of Christ "The Greatest Story Ever Told" (PLEASE! John Wayne as a Roman centurian?). Biblical epics hit their stride in the 50s with the first Cinemascope presentation of "The Robe" through "The Ten Commandments" and then hit their peak with "Ben Hur" in 1959. By the early 60s, it had become more fashionable to do epics that were straight out of the history books rather than the Bible with the likes of "Lawrence of Arabia" and "Doctor Zhivago". So what does old John do? He goes way back to well...The Beginning. Starts off with the story of Adam and Steve, oops...Adam and Eve (my apologies to gay community) starring a very young pre-"Then Came Bronson" Michael Parks in the buff. This segment is rather frustrating because to get the censors off his back for the nakedness presented here, John opt for soft-focus lenses and very little exposure resulting in a rather dark fuzzy picture. We, of course, move on to Richard Harris playing Caine beating his brother Abel to a pulp, the world's first murder, and then cast out of the Garden of Eden. Then we come to the most entertaining part of the film, Noah and the Ark. With Huston himself playing Noah, this segment has the only comedy you'll find here while still maintaining the dignity of the story. Whenever I watch this part, I just can't help but be reminded of Bill Cosby's classic Noah routine: God: NOAH! Noah: What! What do you want? God: YOU GOT TWO MALE HIPPOS THERE AND YOU NEED TO TAKE ONE OUT AND BRING IN A FEMALE! Noah: I'm not doing nothin' you change one of them! God: COME ON, YOU KNOW I DON'T WORK LIKE THAT! After the intermission, we go into the Tower of Babel with an unrecognizable Stephen Boyd playing Nimrod. Then the film really starts to bog down with the story of Abraham that is just too slow and long despite George C. Scott's passionate performance. The only highlight is when we get to Sodom and Gomorrah. Here, Huston does a really neat little special effect with Peter O'Toole playing the three angels. You see the angels all sitting in the same frame with their hooded robes shadowing their faces, when each one speaks, you see O'Toole's face appear! Pretty nifty! After that, the film just continues to drag on to the final attempted sacrifice of Abraham's son Isaac at the conclusion. Is the film a total failure? I wouldn't say so. Technically, it's beautifully done with great cinematography and a majestic music score by Toshirô Mayuzumi that would've even made Miklós Rózsa (Ben Hur) envious. Huston initially wanted this to be part one of a series on the Old Testament, but the box office performance pretty much nixed that. So, basically I would recommend this film to Bible completist and maybe parents who would want to present the Old Testament to their kids in a more entertaining fashion. The Bible is a very metaphorically cryptic book to be able to translate well to the big screen. Only "The Ten Commandments" was able pull it off successfully in terms of going more verbatim while the "The Robe" and "Ben Hur" used the Bible as more of a backdrop of a human story. Again, nice try John for tackling a difficult source, but too long and a little too late.

Despite the fact that I'm not religious at all. I was interested in watching this movie because of the A-list cast with actors like Ava Gardner and Peter O'Toole. It was a very boring movie to watch and despite the fact that I rented it from Amazon, I just couldn't keep watching and gave up on it. Like other people have complained, the parts with Adam and Eve are too dark. It was annoying because you can't see anything in those parts. The actors that play them are very wooden. The entire movie is just really boring and cheesy. This certain movie just skips and its jittery in a lot of parts, its just not in good quality. I've rented other movies from Amazon and they were of good quality and I didn't have these problems with them. Its sad that A-list actors wasted their talents on this movie. Oh well you win some, you lose some. Ben-Hur was a great movie. I suggest that instead of this movie, even if you're not religious, the acting and plot are much better in that movie and the actors show passion, charisma, and character for their roles.

I WAS TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS MOVIE, THE QUALITY WAS BAD TOO MAYBE THAT IS BECAUSE IT IS AN OLD MOVIE, IT IS A ONE TIME WATCH.

This Blu-Ray is a Chinese import from Hong Kong. There may be nothing wrong with it, but Amazon really should make that clear in their listing. There is no USA Blu-Ray release of this film. Nor will there be any time soon, as Miramax has gone under. If you want to be guaranteed the best import version currently avaialble, track down the Danish import. It's Region Free, and the audio/video are outstanding.

One of my all time favorite movies! You just can't go wrong with Pulp Fiction!

What can I say my stoner ex-girlfriend made me watch this movie. It nearly had me in tears when I was an hour in and realized that there was still 2 more to go. I'm lucky I keep my hair short because by time I got down to the last 30 minutes I wanted to rip my hair out. It was the most boring piece of crap I have ever watched. With one exception if you are a stoner you'll love this movie blazed because I assume that when you are flying high you just don't care how truly terrible this movie really is.

I have this VHS edition and when I had purchased the DVD special edition, thought I was getting the same thing. But, not so...contrary to the specs. listed by Amazon for this VHS, the running time is actually 164 minutes (not 154). It evidently is the ONLY edition which is that long as it includes the 10 minutes of extended scenes. None of the DVD versions available include those extended (deleted) scenes. They all run only 154 minutes. Update: Amazon has corrected the runtime on this item page as I had recommended. This VHS special collector's edition is the only version that includes the added 10 minutes of extended scenes in the movie.

Pulp Fiction is inspired by the old novels of the same name. The characters in the movie remind you of the 1930's -40's cheap crime novels full of familiar characters like boxers willing to throw a fight, mob bosses, calculating wives and bank robbers like Bonnie and Clyde. Tarantino is the director and must have tongue in cheek throughout! Pulp Fiction is set in Hollywood in the 1990's and combines three stories that focus on two characters. The first story is about Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L. Jackson). Jules quotes Ezekiel 25:17 to his victims before blasting them. Jules and Vincent are two hit men that work for Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Marsellus has a beautiful wife, Mia (Uma Thurman). Marsellus wants Vincent to entertain his wife and takes her out to a 1950's themed restaurant. She takes a liking to Vincent, and is also a drug addict. She overdoses and the scrambling and the scenes scrambling saving her from death are hilarious. The second story is about a boxer who is asked to throw a fight (Bruce Willis) by the big boss Marsellus. He decides to make money himself by doing the opposite and wins the fight, killing his opponent in an early round. The third story is about a pair of lovers (Amanda Plummer and Tim Roth) who discuss a career change from robbing banks to holding up a diner. They decide a diner is easier and more money. There is also an interesting character named Wolf (Keitel). He is a mobster cleanup man who instructs on how to do the job. The film's stories weave in and out, there is a lot of dialogue that is mesmerizing. Talk about Big Mac's in Paris and why someone was killed because he massaged the feet of big boss's wife, Mia. Sometimes the dialogue goes so long you know it is on purpose - like a rhythmic "riff" to the ears - The movie is original and bright though the theme is dark in the noir way. There are lengthy scenes presented out of sequence. I don't know how the movie is held together unless the a feeling of the playfulness of the actors as they enjoy their characters. The final scene brings the movie together - ties it in a neat little package.

This product is the utmost outstanding dipiction of the life and teaching of Jesus Christ. It's my all time favorite movie, and it helps anyone who watches it to know--Jesus Christ is Lord. By it, watch it, change your life. Thank you Amazon.

This is a remarkable movie. Whether all the events are true or not no one knows. But this is an EPIC picture. It PULLS you in. You need to follow each and every scene. The photography is beautiful, predicated upon many great paintings of art history. The music is dramatic and meaningful. In many ways this is a superior remake of THE GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD, with Max Von Sydow as the Christ, but SO, SO much better. Michael York, Sir Laurence Olivier, James Mason, Anne Bancroft, Olivia Hussey, Rod Steiger and Anthony Quinn star. Robert Powell as Jesus is the greatest portrayal I have ever seen. There are numerous key moments, relating to life, death and the family, that literally brought tears to my eyes. As a child I loved the tales of the life of Christ in Sunday School. This brings back that fascination and wonder of those childhood days. It inspires and awes me. The various parables of Christ never cease to puzzle me. It is a heartfelt tale, filmed by a genius. A wonderful, unforgetable cinematic experience for the Easter holiday that both young and old will enjoy.

Very disappointing. You would think director Franco Zeffirelli and his cast of many gifted actors and actresses could stay true to the real story. What starts off decent enough transforms into six hours of very liberal interpretation. Why toil to the actual locations without honoring the documented details? For those who will never open the bible to read the story for themselves, this will only confuse anyone who is earnestly trying to learn anything about the greatest story ever told. They should have just called this "Jason of the desert."

Jesus of Nazareth is best movie production of the life of Christ that I have ever seen. The DVD arrived on time and in good condition.

This movie has all the scripture and history you can ask for. The characters--especially the one playing Jesus--are done well. I watched it when I was very young and still enjoy watching it 35 years later.

I love this movie, so I was happy to be able to see it again. It is generally a very clear movie, but there are some moments in the movie where the picture freezes. What I like the most about it is the commentary and special features, such as the discussion between Ted Neeley and Norman Jewison. That is a great feature, as well as the gallery, which was so well done, along with the music. It's nice that it was not just pictures. Also, the documentary with Tim Rice, which was very informative. I was a little disappointed that there were no pictures inside the DVD case along with the disc. There is a space there for it, so I think there should have been something like that there. It was a good price at $9.99, although it came to $22 with the shipping. The sound was very good, too, which is very important. I should have asked if there was anything inside the case other than the DVD, but as long as I can play it, and it works, I am happy with it.

Saw the original show many years ago; have seen it 2 or 3 times since. So HAD to have the DVD. Excellent

Some people take this movie/musical too seriously and, for that reason, tend to dislike it. However, I found the entire production to be exceedingly well done and enjoyable, and the music to be first rate. No doubt ALW was at his best during this period. Also, Ted Neely pulls off a very thoughtful performance. It is truly a classic rock opera.

This appears to be a cheap burned copy quality, skips entire sections of the movie, not original manufacture, I would have done as well buying on the street.

I saw this movie in 1973 when it was first released and it is still just as good today. Although most all reviewers have commented on Ted Neely's "vocal range" it is actually Ian Gillian from Deep Purple who sang the role of Jesus in the movie and on the LP - I played the album to death & beyond back in the 70's. Movie is excellent, even today.

I purchased this to replace my old 5 series which I had for a couple years and really liked it but the battery lost its life. I chose this model because I didn't want to pay for the more expensive models. I have been using this for a couple of weeks now. I like the battery life indicator feature as well as the ability to wash it w/ water. The closeness of shave does not seem to match my previous models, but does a pretty good job nonetheles. The shaver itself has a nice solid feel and overall I am pleased with my purchase.

I bought this shaver for my boyfriend as an upgrade from his previous Braun that was starting to die on him. The last one served a very long life but was no longer doing it's job. He loves the new one. It's easy to clean, shaves in fewer strokes than the last one did when it was new and holds a charge much longer than it's predecessor...which is great for a guy on the go.

Excellent Razor for a bearded senior. Wish I did not have to pay shipping charge as it brought the price in line with local store price.

I bought both the model 370 and 550 close together. Now that three plus months have gone by, I would definitely NOT recommend the model 370 and ony conditionally the model 550. The 550 is over-priced, while neither model gives a close shave compared to the Norelco quadra head I bought more than a year ago. I end up using the Norelco to finish up after the Brauns. I am unable to get a reasonably close shave with the model 370 and just barely with the model 550. I suspect the heads clog up with whisters as you shave and this affects the shave. I wanted to try a Braun after years of using a Norelco or Panasonic(a joke). I will stick with the Norelcos and consign the Brauns to the dresser drawer as a bad choice and a waste of money. Spend a little more and buy a good Norelco. Your face will thank you for it.

In spite of what they say, it does not do well on my curly beard, especially if several days old. Not as good as the rotary type ones. Other that that, a very nice razor.

I received the GoBible in just a few days after placing my order. The ease of transaction, efficient delivery, and extreme quality of product made this an enjoyable transaction.

THEY ARE A GREAT ITEM,I KEPT ONE FOR MYSELF AND LOVE IT, AND GAVE ONE TO A FRIEND FOR CHRISTMAS AND SHE JUST LOVES IT,AND CAN'T SAY THANKS ENOUGH. THANKS

The Go Bible was a gift for my wife. It's easy to use, has great battery life, and is easy to slip in pocket or clip to pants so she can use it anywhere. I will also use it often. Delivery was prompt and the merchandise was as advertised. I will buy one for myself soon so I don't have to keep borrowing hers. Thanks Amazon and Go Bible, great product.

I received my GoBible yesterday and LOVE it. It is very simple to use. The instructions are "short and sweet"... :-) very concise...they tell you exactly what you need to know and you can begin using it within a few minutes. You can QUICKLY move to any book, chapter or verse! The ability to search by verse is awesome!...and was the main reason I purchased it. For example: If you wanted to listen to Proverbs, Chapter 3, Verses 5 through 12....you can go directly to Prov. Chapt 3, Verse 5 and start listening. The Words of Scripture do NOT display on the screen...however, the Verse numbers do! So...if you watch the screen you will know what verse you are listening to and you can manually stop it at Verse 12. (otherwise, it will continue to verse 13 and so on) If you want to listen to it again....you can "backup" a verse at a time. This is great for memorization! The sound quality is excellent...I was very surprised at how perfectly clear it is. The device is very compact and extremely light weight. It has great "extra features" too...Bible Storys, a Topical Index, Bible in a Year Plan, and you can place up to 36 Bookmarks. It only uses one Triple A Battery. Not sure how long they last as I just got it. It automatically shuts off in 5 minutes if it is not playing or there is no navigation. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to listen to Scripture... any place, any time.

The NIV GoBible was a great accessory to the person(s) on the go or during travel. When you want to hear scriptural verse's in the bible it is there.

Comments on the WOWBible I would not recommend the WOWBible for the reasons given below: I've been a daily user of the GoBible since September 2008. I bought a new WowBible in June 2009. I was very excited when I read it features but my excitement was followed by disapointment after one month of ownership. The WOWBible Lacks a key-lock feature to prevent accidental interruption of operation. Unlike the GoBible that has a key-lock feature to prevent accidental interruption of your listening. Thw WOWBible has poor battery life when compared to the GoBible. You can get about 6-7 hours (normal scriptural reading and listening) then you have to recharge, or you can keep it plug into the power source (USB or AC) if you are close to it. I can get more than 24 hours continuous use from my GoBible depending on the capacity of the AAA battery I am using, and I always have additional spare rechargeable AAA batteries. There is no feature that remembers where you left off from your last audio listening or scriptural reading session. Unlike the GoBible that take you back to where you left off. The book mark feature takes you back to the marked verse, but it does not allow you to continue through the remaining portion of the scripture. It marks only that verse, then it stops at the end of that verse and you have to manually search for the book, chapter and verse where you were. I dislike this so very much. Also if you try to go forward, it will take you to the next book marked item. Each time you turn on the WOWBible its like starting over for the first time, you have to manually select the book, chapter and verse, and it does not pick up from where you last ended your scriptural study. I like the features that allows you to add music file, voice notes and other recordings and give them specific file names. The volume control on the WOWBible does not work when you play back a recorded message, so you hear your recorded message at an unpredictable level over which you have no control. You will have to depend on an external volume control (external speakers or head sets with a volume control) to lower the volume on your recorded files. The WOWBible has good coordination between the audio and written scriptures. So you can read and listen at the same time. This works well if you don't increase the text size and if the particular verse fits on the screen. If you increase the text size of what you are reading and it cannot all fit on the screen you will have to manually scroll to the next page to read and keep up with the audio reading. The WOWBible can only perform one function at a time. You cannot read and/or listen to scriptures and use another feature at the same time. It will end whatever feature you are using to begin use of the new function. All the PDA information has to be manually inputted from the WOWBible keypad. Not a very flexible PDA. I like the exam feature to test scriptural knowledge. However, the exam questions are presented in a random manner. For example, if you go to the exam in the book of Ruth, the questions appear in a random manner and it jumps to different books of the bible. I don't like this. If I am studying Ruth then it should at least stay in the book of Ruth, and not take me to Exodus or some other book. I like the back-lit feature. You can read when the lights are dimmed in church or in a darkened room or if you are a passenger in a vehicle. I like the built in speaker. It is clear and understandable, and is very handy when I am relaxing alone and don't want to use a headset. When listening to the scriptures, you cannot control the volume using the control buttons, you have to use the stylus and tap the +/- to control the volume. Not very convienent when driving and listening through the built-in speaker (not convient at all). You can control the volume of music using the control buttons and the stylus. I like the dictionary function. I like the ability to load music, pictures, movies and ebooks on the WOWBible. I have not personally loaded any movies or ebooks, so I cannot comment on how these features work at this time. I would not recommend the WOWBible. Its greatest feature is that you can read and listen to the scriptures. All other features seems to need some refinements. It is a good start, but I think many refinements are needed to make it suitable for what a potential user is expecting from the features described, at its listed price. I am not happy and with my WOWBible and I am still happy with my GoBible. From what I have read the new NOWBible appears to be an improvement over the WOWBible. I don't know if which if any of the shortfalls that I dislike above have been addressed in the NOWBible.

I purchased this wow bible and oh my goodness how did I not have this much earlier. This little bible is a powerhouse. I can drive now and listen to the Word of God while I'm driving.Sometimes I don't get a chance to have my devotion and read the word early in the morning. Well this wow bible put a stop to that because now I can listen to it while I'm driving to work. I took it on a trip with me on the plane and it was the best thing I could have done. Had a problem at first but when you contact the company they get to you right away and they solve the problem. I can't live without my wow bible. It's a must have.

I love the WOW bible.. I use it on my long drive to work. The sketch is great for notes/prayers. It is more then i thought it would be. BUT I only got to use it for a week or so then the battery quit charging.. Luckily the company is really nice and they let me send it back and I am waiting on the new replacement.... I feel lost without it.. Got used to using it every day.. The Exam is really fun....

Wow, where do I start? This is an awesome product! Let me say that I have purchased one for both of my mother's, one for my self and a half of one before the entire audio bible came out. I now own the whole audio bible. My children even love this. Both of my mothers meaning my mother and mother in law love this product. We go to sleep to this at night, we listen to this in the car in the mornings when we start our day. I even listen to this at work. This is so awesome. I even sometimes use my print bible to go back to study what I have heard. My My what an awesome product.... we skip around, we just enjoy our product. It is so awesome! If you don't own your own copy, I will tell you that you are missing out. It is like you are in a movie, and the sound the quality is so awesome. This is worth every bit that you spend. I don't see what the complaint is about, as this is awesome, Daniel, and Moses were different people, who probably had different voices. This to me makes the bible come alive, through voice. Maybe The Word of Promise is what some who do not enjoy Inspired By The Bible Experience will enjoy. Both are great, but I like the product that I have purchased and so does my family and who every I have shared this with. It is awesome. My husband was every impressed with this product. Well there are many audio bibles out there, and for the ones that I have own, this is the best one. The last one that I owned before this set, I only purchased half of it, and once this product came out I gave that half away and purchased this one. This has helped me in my devotional time and on the go and rush time. If you have a hard time reading the bible, try this, as you won't be disappointed. Also our children range in ages from 1 to 9 and they love this bible, maybe we are just fans of audio books, because that is the way that I can get my reading completed while doing housework etc. This is also good for bible study. The background to me is not a distraction, you hear nature and waves. I just am a fan of this product and believe that it is awesome. I have also gained a better understand and can remember more of the word when I hear this through the audio bible. Gen is so powerful! In my experience with this product the voices were clear and you could understand them, through the background noise. The back ground noise enhances the product to me. In closing, I have the entire set on cd. My household has been blessed by this product, we are grateful that this was produced. Grateful that the children even ask to listen to this, as they could chose to listen to so many other things. Their focus could be else where. All I know is that everyone that has encountered this product that I know from my own experience has been blessed. Enjoy your copy!

I don't like the dramatization. It's not what I expected. When I read the Bible, I read it as God's voice to me. I don't like the performed dialogue as though this were entertainment. For me, the Bible is a compilation of the writers' experience of God and this rendition detracts from the person to person feel I get when I read the words from the page. I'm very disappointed. I wish I could get my money back and try again for a simple reading of a modern translation such as Today's English. That is really what I was looking for. The ad for this in Amazon said it was TNIV. I thought perhaps the NIV had been updated, but it sure sounds the same to me! I feel like they misrepresented the product, but maybe I just didn't understand the "Inspired by ... The Bible Experience" If you like drama in Bible reading, you might like this.

Someone had recommended this to me, saying it was probably the best audio version of the Bible. I have only listened to the James Earl Jones version. It was pretty good, but this one has the advantage of a larger cast. I'm actually only to Luke so far, but so far, the presentation is very nice. The TNIV version they use seems to replace the word men with people a lot, but I don't think they changed anything significant, those are contested in various versions of the Bible anyway. The message is still there. For those of you afraid to read the Bible because it's just too big, try this out and start with the New Testament. The Bible is really 66 separate books written across many different genres. The accounts in the gospels are brought to life in a new way. Try it, you won't regret it.

I decided to listen to the Gospel of Mark first - in the very 1st chapter there was an error - instead of 'Jesus was moved with compassion' it says instead 'Jesus was indignant' I don't see how this type of error can be excused; why would they not have had someonee review each recording and edit mistakes. I tried a sampling of other books and I personally did not care for the constant background noise. I had thought that it was only occassionally when appropriate not as continuous background sounds - even for Psalms. Very distracting. Mainly it sounds of people talking, animal sounds, banging - which I just didn't care for since my goal was to hear and follow the reader rathr then be distracted from what was being said. The readers voices make it still worth listening too, though difficult, the readings are very well done - but the error from the beginning and the constant, and to me unnecessary background noises, were not what I had wanted or expected. I would certainly consider buying another version of this if they were to come out with just the voices or soft music background only. Has any recording - cd or dvd - been done using nature sounds as background only - ocean, thunder, water? or relaxing music?

Truly this is the best audio Bible I've ever listened to. So many seem to be dull or poorly edited. This one comes ALIVE! I'm not a huge fan of the NIV Bible and wish this came in NLT or even KJV, but it is simply amazing. I love listening to it and even my kids (ages 11 & 13) really enjoy it. It's easy to tell these are not just "readers" but "actors" as they really do seem to make it come alive. The background noise & music does not detract, but makes it more theatrical. Although this is "acting" - the text read aloud is the exact Bible in this version. No "ad libbing" (if you will). I spent my birthday money from my mother on this & am so glad I did. I highly & enthusiastically recommend it!

I want to point out that the fact that the possibility of enlarging the text even for pdf's that I have charged on my Kindle by sending them to you and paying for adapting them to Kindle seems to me not fully correct. You have stated that clearly so I am not raising a question of politeness. But for somebody like me (a scientists) who mainly wants to put many scientific papers in the Kindle to have them at his disposal when he is around the world delivering conferences and so on, to read on the Kindle a page, just to mention a specific case, of The Physical Review (even if you turn the Kindle around) is not an easy task.

The Kindle DX is perfect for its intended purpose. I have Macular Degeneration and the font choices make reading so much easier than most books. I bought a couple of Bibles but find it too cumbersome to navaigate to different verses to use in church. I wish that my cell phone and digital camera was as easy to view as the Kindle screen. It has everything I want except color. As an artist, it would be nice to be able to download photos of my artwork and use the Kindle as a portfolio. I also find browsing for books cumbersome on the KIndle - it is much easier to surf the amazon.com website to find books. Overall, I am very pleased with this reader.

I think the Kindle is a wonderful product for reading books and its very good on the eyes. I like the features it offers and would recommend it to anyone thinking about purchasing one. In a little over a month I have read almost 12 books and I can say that it has been more than probably a years worth as opposed to paper books. I think that for the price of the item, it is missing some required features and little bells. I will mention them what I think the devise is missing and requires: It needs an easy way to organize your books by either date, alphabet, date of purchase, etc. It does give you the option to archive your purchased items in the amazon site but not in the kindle itself. It is not a real issue but when you have many books, your archived books in your devices should be separated with unread items. There should be a feature either password protected or what have you to store items in the Kindle Locked without options to delete or archive, ei dictionary, bible what fancies you. Some books and items suck and are not copied entirely and are missing the little illustrations that sometimes a book may have in between chapters. A Built in clock with date that you can organize and use a a little planner. I purchase a calendar planner and the dates of it work. Don't try to use the planner for any type of planning as typing in it is horrible and not useful. I think I gave a bunch of little examples of little bells and whistles the devise is missing. Having said that, they are tiny things compared to the pleasure the kindle has brought to me for reading. Do yourself a favor, If you are int he market for one BUY IT. You will not regret it, I promise.

The 9.7" Kindle is wonderful. I like the bigger screen size and the ease at which I can get books. The only downside of these type of readers can be a glare on the screen, but that is minimul. Many people I know wonder if their eyes will begin to hurt similar to when staring at a computer screen for to long. The type of screen used on the Kindle is nothing like a computer screen. The Kindle screen is like reading a book, no strain on the eyes what so ever. It is portable and can hold all of my books versus carrying eight books around. It is also my small way of making a dent in the number of trees we cut down as I am no longer buying paper books. Great product and highly recommended.

I haven't bought one yet because of all of the shortfalls and mistakes. I did not buy a Kindle 1 becasue I wanted K2, where it would be fixed. Didn't work. I have hassles with other eReaders also, so haven't bought one of them for myself either (have bought two for family members who wanted something now and only needed the book and storage capabilities - needed good pdf for military manuals), waiting for one of them to add the wikipedia access. Now, I am beginning to think Amazon is not listening, and that the chances that K3 will have fixed the shortcomings and problems is low. Why pay the price and accept the lunacy of proprietary formats if they are not listening, not taking care of customers, and not figuring it all out on their own? Is anyone from Amazon out there that will provide truthful answers rather than the Amazon.com propaganda page? They certainly do not admit to the identified limitations of their equipment on their sites.
