You'll will have to excuse me, I've never done anythihg like this before. eBay 101 selling on eBay, wasn't what I expected. I thought there would be afew more pointers on buying. Never the less, the information on how to sell your product and marketing techinques were quite helpful. I definitly encourge everyone to read to get an overall view what eBay can do in helping you market your products.

I found it to be easier just having a friend explain the basics to me - however, there is more information I can investigate in the book. I plan on concentrating on selling on ebay at the end of summer.

Fully two thirds of the book are devoted to things like Facebook and having a Web site, but the author doesn't tie it back to your ebay biz. Having said that, the first 60 pages are excellent for the newb. One other sore point, he lists plants, weeds, and seeds as forbidden. I checked, you can sell all the seeds you want and there are loads of plants offered. So my question is: What else did he get wrong? Two concerns = -2 stars, net rating 3.

The book was good for a beginner. I was actually looking for something a little more but it is good if you know nothing about Ebay.

This book is well thought out, and written by an expert in the business of Ebay. It's an easy read because the text is not too small, and the information provided is so helpful. I almost finished it the very same day I received it.

Great book loaded with so much information. I read and reread it many times. Tons of great ideas and really gets you motivated to sell. Would recommend it to anyone.

ATTENTION DUANE: GET THIS BOOK AND READ IT! It's great book. Even though eBay has changed a lot since it was written, it's full of great ideas that still work! I applied them and made power seller & top-rated seller too! Its real value is its ability to motivate you to get started and see how easy it can be.

This book is for new ebay user! I finished more than half of the book and have not seen anything valuable yet!

If you're thinking about starting an eBay business this is a must read - should be one of the first books in your how to library . Lots of really useful info and encouragement. I've sold nearly half of the items I've listed in my first 60 days using the tips and recommendations in this book.

After 106 pages of stories of how great E-Bay is and how he & his mother sell on it all the time, the author finally gives some info to the reader on what you need to get started. Unfortunately after another few pages he goes into do's and don'ts that complicate the whole process. At this point Im rather leary of doing anything on E-Bay esp. selling. As of this date Ive turned it all over to my partner including the book. I had hoped for a simple stage by stage set-up for selling, this book was to boring and complicated for this old bird.....

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author was funny, honest and quite a businessman. I never even heard of a Birkin and will probably never own one but it was interesting learning about them. If you're in the mood for a biography that's easy to read and humorous, try this. I would love to meet the author one day -- he seems very genuine and I'm sure he would keep me laughing.

I'm an educated girley girl, I loved this book and wanted to cry when it ended, please there must be enough stories for a second book!!! Oh a movie, it would be a hit!! Poo poo Sex in the City this is real life!! A must read for any girley girl with taste. I also fell in love with the author, if he were into women, I would marry him!! xoxo

Michael Tonello has a rare and special talent: he is able to saunter into a store, throw down the American Express, and buy a purse! Not impressed? This is a purse that even singer/songwriter Carole Bayer Sager, a Tonello customer, cannot purchase from the retailer. This is the purse that until recently had a two year waiting-to-buy list and was the subject of a Sex and the City episode. In short, this purse is not just any carryall, but the super exclusive and ultra expensive Hèmes Birkin. In Bringing Home the Birkin, Tonello finds himself living in Barcelona without a job or a work permit, and a five year apartment lease to pay. Tonello is an entrepreneurial spirit who hocks his designer duds on ebay for spending money. During one auction, Tonello strikes gold when his Hèrmes scarf is the subject of a fierce bidding war. After the auction several frustrated bidders contact him for more Hèrmes. Tonello purchases several dozen Hèrmes scarves and soon acquires powerseller status on ebay. He details the stories of his conquests with wit and sarcasm: If there was a secret Birkin bunker anywhere, this was the store. It was enormous, an imposing limestone building. (I had tried to figure out which floors held what while lurking inconspicuously on the sidewalk on my last trip, feeling like a fifteen-year-old casing a theater that showed X-rated movies. I knew not all the floors were devoted to merchandise (and I assumed there was at least one floor devoted to housing the Oompa-Loompas). Well, I'd soon find out . . . . In Bringing Home the Birkin Tonello dishes up plenty of snark and sass for the perfect summer read! Review based on borrowed library copy.

All I can say is this has become my favorite book! It was such a fun read that I couldn't put it down! There are NO boring parts and I felt like I was right there with the author on his journey for the Birkin. So much fun!

I read this book a couple of years ago and I absolutely loved it. Recommended for all high fashion lovers out there, especially those who want an Hermes but can't afford one - buy this book instead and you'll feel like you're living through his travels and friendships forged in searching for yet another coveted Birkin.
